Three pages losing clicks, three different causes
Before
Monday check-in. Search Console, last 28 days vs previous 28: no-show guide 1,180 to 640 clicks, deposits guide 530 to 352, marketing ideas post 2,040 to 1,610.
After
3 pages are losing clicks, for 3 different reasons. No-show guide (-46%): rankings fell from 5.9 to 9.4, refresh plan drafted. Deposits guide (-34%): position held but CTR fell from 3.1% to 2.0% under a new AI Overview, new title and opening drafted. Marketing ideas post (-21%): fewer people are searching, position and CTR held, so no rewrite. Your call: approve the no-show plan first?

REFRESH QUEUE: week of 2026-10-05 Data: Search Console (live, after your sign-in), Web, 2026-09-06 to 2026-10-03 vs 2026-08-09 to 2026-09-05, read 2026-10-05 09:04 Queue: 3 open | New this week 3 | Plans drafted 2 | Published awaiting check 0 | Measured this week 0 Top of queue: 1. /blog/reduce-patient-no-shows/ | Clicks 1,180 to 640 (-46%) | RANKING LOSS | P1 | Plan drafted | Plan: Refresh - blog/reduce-patient-no-shows 2. /blog/deposits-for-clinics/ | Clicks 530 to 352 (-34%) | CTR LOSS | P1 | Plan drafted | Plan: Refresh - blog/deposits-for-clinics 3. /blog/physio-marketing-ideas/ | Clicks 2,040 to 1,610 (-21%) | DEMAND LOSS | P2 | New | Plan: none, because a rewrite would not bring back lost demand Low signal: /features/online-booking/ (96 to 71) Measured this week: none Decisions for you: - No-show guide: average position fell from 5.9 to 9.4 and the top 3 now include a reminder timing table and a policy template. Approve the plan (new opening, timing table from clinic data [confirm numbers], cancellation policy section)? Recommendation: approve; it is the largest loss. - Deposits guide: position held (7.1 to 7.4) but CTR fell from 3.1% to 2.0%, and Google now shows an AI Overview for 'physio appointment deposit' that does not cite us. Approve the new title and opening passage in the plan? - Marketing ideas post: impressions fell 21% while position and CTR held, so fewer people are searching. Recommendation: leave it, and compare with the same 28 days last year on 2026-11-02. Data problems: none Slack: a three-line version is drafted for #seo and waiting for your approval.
Refresh plan for a page that kept its rank but lost its clicks
Before
Draft the plan for the deposits guide. It's still around position 7 but clicks are down a third.

REFRESH PLAN: https://www.fernway.example/blog/deposits-for-clinics/ Data: Search Console, Web, 2026-09-06 to 2026-10-03 vs 2026-08-09 to 2026-09-05, live Signal: Clicks 530 to 352 (-34%) | Impressions 17,100 to 17,600 | CTR 3.1% to 2.0% | Position 7.1 to 7.4 Diagnosis: CTR LOSS | Evidence: position within 1 and impressions steady; Google now shows an AI Overview for 'physio appointment deposit' citing orbitpractice.example and lumenhealth.example Keep: 'How much deposit to take' and its amount table; the query 'how much deposit physio' still earns clicks at position 3.2 Change: replace the 180-word intro with the new answer first; new title and meta below; the payment fees paragraph quotes 2024 card processing rates, update to the current published rate [confirm] Add: H2 'Can a UK clinic take a deposit for a physio appointment?' linking to the cancellation policy template; a table comparing deposit, card on file and no protection by patient friction and refund handling Cut or merge: the '5 reasons deposits are great' list repeats the intro; cut it New answer first: A deposit taken at booking means a patient who cancels late or does not show still pays part of the session, which protects the slot without charging regular patients in full up front. Set it as a share of the session price, refundable with 24 hours' notice, and state it in your cancellation policy. Title tag: Physio Appointment Deposits: How Much and When - Fernway (56 characters) | Meta description: How much deposit a physio clinic should take, when to refund it, and how deposits compare with a card on file. Includes a policy you can copy. (143 characters) Date rule: update dateModified: yes, the opening, one section and the fee facts change Measure on: publish date plus 28 days; compare the page's clicks and CTR with the 28 days before publishing, and the Google AI Overview status for 'physio appointment deposit' in the Visibility tab
Indexing request handed off, not submitted
Before
we published the refreshed no-show guide this morning. can you get google to recrawl it?
After
Handing this one to you: submitting anything in Search Console is yours. It takes about two minutes: 1. In Search Console, paste https://www.fernway.example/blog/reduce-patient-no-shows/ into the URL Inspection bar at the top. 2. Wait for the result, then choose Request indexing. 3. Do the same for /features/reminders/, which now links to the guide. I updated the Refresh queue: /blog/reduce-patient-no-shows/ is Published, published 2026-10-14, Next check 2026-11-11. On 2026-11-11 I will compare clicks with the 28 days before publishing and tell you whether it recovered. The page shows 'Updated 14 October 2026' and its dateModified matches, so the date rule is met.

About this kit
Hand your ChatGPT dot the content refresh queue. Every Monday it reads Search Console, finds the pages losing clicks, works out why, drafts a refresh plan for the ones that matter and brings you the decisions on what to fix and publish next. Built for founders and content leads whose best old posts quietly decay while they ship new ones. Setup takes about 15 minutes.
What you get
- A weekly REFRESH QUEUE summary. The pages losing clicks, last 28 days against the previous 28, with the real date ranges, ranked by priority, plus the decisions that need you.
- A diagnosis, not just a drop alert. Each flagged page gets one of six causes: INDEXING, CANNIBALIZATION, RANKING LOSS, CTR LOSS, DEMAND LOSS or INTENT SHIFT. Each one points to a different fix, and DEMAND LOSS tells you not to rewrite at all.
- REFRESH PLANs in Google Drive. Keep, Change, Add and Cut, a new answer-first opening, title and meta description within length limits, a date rule and a measurement date.
- A tracker that stays current. The Refresh queue tab of the SEO GEO Tracker sheet, one row per page, with statuses from New to Measured. It uses the same columns as the SEO/GEO Skill and Bot.
- Follow-through. 28 days after you publish a refresh, the dot compares again and tells you whether it worked.
- Boundaries as custom rules. Editing the tracker happens without asking; Slack posts need your approval; publishing and anything in Search Console are handed to you.
- A setup file. App permissions, the responsibility and working instructions to paste, the custom rules table, a schedule block and a first-run review checklist.
Who it is for
- Founders doing their own SEO who never get around to checking which posts are slipping.
- Content leads with 50 or more indexed pages and no one assigned to maintenance.
- Teams that already trust their dot with recurring work and want SEO upkeep on its list.
What it will not do
- Publish, edit your site or CMS, or submit anything in Search Console, including indexing requests. It prepares the steps and hands them to you.
- Invent numbers. Every figure comes from Search Console or an export, with dates. Stale data is reported, not reused.
- Rewrite pages whose demand fell. It tells you when a drop is not a content problem.
- Post to Slack or delete files in your Google Drive without your approval.
- Treat a page as fixed until it is measured. Every refresh gets a check 28 days after it goes live.
