Opportunity Radar Bot
A twice-daily, scored shortlist of new AI product ideas for indie builders, with sources.
von GetKits
Warum es $19 wert ist
Was es dir abnimmt
Twice a day, at 8:00 and 20:00, it scans 8 sources for the last 12 hours and returns up to 5 scored opportunities with links, so you stop scrolling HN, Reddit and X for ideas.
Ab dem ersten Tag bereit
- 4 skills: radar scan, opportunity score, idea brief, weekly trends
- 8 source routes that work without logins, with block fallbacks
- A 20-point score on 6 factors, with caps for weak evidence
- 6 opportunity types, each with a first version one person can ship
- A Drive tracker that dedupes signals and counts repeat runs
Was du nicht selbst bauen musst
Finding source routes that still work without logins, a score that tells real pain from a hype spike, and rules that stop the Bot from inventing trends to fill a quiet report.

First version (3 weeks at 10 hours a week): the 300 most-starred public MCP servers, each run through Glimmer Scan's rules plus 5 checks (permissions asked, network calls, maintainer, last commit, license), refreshed weekly, with search, risk filters and a README badge | Out: private servers, accounts, paid audits Price: Toolshelf $29/month per team | Start: free directory; $9/month for alerts when a server you use changes risk; $49/month for a team watchlist Launch: Show HN (a working page, no signup wall); r/LocalLLaMA (self-promotion only in the weekly thread [confirm]); the badge in maintainers' READMEs Kill criteria: under 500 visitors from launch, or fewer than 20 alert signups, by 2026-11-05 Risks: a false sense of safety (label it automated checks, not an audit) | maintainers disputing ratings (publish the method) | a large directory adding scores | Glimmer Scan's license [confirm before reuse] Saved: Brief - OPP-021 - Security ratings for MCP servers

Quiet window: nothing scored 11 or more, so there is no top list this time. RADAR REPORT: 2026-10-18 08:00 America/New_York Window: 2026-10-17 20:00 to 2026-10-18 08:00 | Signals: 71 new, 19 updated | Sources: HN 24, Product Hunt 0, YC 0, GitHub 22, Reddit 17, X 6, new sites 2 | Blocked: Product Hunt (challenge page, again on retry; feed empty for the window), X ("rate limit exceeded" after 2 of 7 queries, again on retry) Theme: no common theme Top opportunities: none If you build one: none this window. OPP-014 from Tuesday still leads the tracker at 16. Avoid for now: none new Below the line: OPP-044 Receipt photos to a tax CSV 9: Reddit only, capped at 9 until a second source family shows the same pain | OPP-045 Local model markdown editor 8: one Show HN at 3 points, no user voice yet Tech trends: none new New sites: tidyreceipts.pages.dev | turns receipt photos into a CSV for tax | r/SideProject; lumenpad.vercel.app | a markdown editor that formats with a local model | Show HN, 3 points Quiet: nothing scored 11 or more this window. Weekend nights bring about half the usual signals, and with X mostly blocked, social demand is undercounted, so I capped 2 groups instead of guessing. Next: the 20:00 run retries X. If it is blocked again, I will space its 7 queries 2 minutes apart.

- Opportunity Radar Bot: Grok Bot setup
This file builds a Grok Bot that finds new product opportunities for one-person and small teams.
- Before you start
- Step 1: Create the Bot and set its profile
- Step 2: Paste the setup message
- Step 3: Connect plugins
- Step 4: Test run
- Everyday prompts
- Troubleshooting
Über dieses Kit
A Grok Bot teammate that reads Hacker News, Product Hunt, YC Launches, GitHub, Reddit and X twice a day, finds the new launches, repos and complaints that point at a product someone could build, and scores each opportunity out of 20 for demand, momentum, competition and how fast one person can ship it. Built for indie developers and small teams who want a short, linked list of ideas instead of an afternoon of scrolling. Setup takes about 15 minutes.
What you get
- Two radar runs a day. At 8:00 and 20:00 in your time zone, the Bot scans the last 12 hours on 8 sources, including new sites on Vercel, Netlify and Cloudflare Pages that people link to, and returns up to 5 scored opportunities with evidence links, competitors, the angle that sets you apart and a first version, plus one pick if you only build one and what to skip for now.
- A score you can check. Six factors with written levels (demand, momentum, cross-source, gap, buildable, money) and caps for weak evidence, so a single viral post cannot become a "build this".
- Six opportunity types. AI tool site, SaaS, Chrome extension, template site, data tool and agent workflow, each with the smallest first version for your stack and hours.
- Idea briefs on request. For one opportunity: who has the problem in their own words, up to 5 competitors and their prices, a demand check, a first version, launch places and kill criteria, saved as a Google Doc.
- A Monday trend rollup. Keywords and opportunities that kept coming back all week, what cooled off, and which sources were blocked.
- One tracker. Signals, Opportunities, Keywords and Sources tabs in Google Drive. Signals are deduped by URL and counted across runs, so repeat demand shows.
- A setup file. The Bot profile, a Builder profile template, one paste-in message that saves 4 skills and 3 routines, source routes that work without logins, and a test run with expected results.
Who it is for
- Indie developers looking for the next small product to build, who want ideas that match their stack and hours.
- Builders of AI tool sites, Chrome extensions and template sites who need to catch a platform change early.
- Small SaaS teams that want a twice-daily read on what their buyers complain about and launch.
- Newsletter writers and creators who cover AI tools and need a sourced list of what is new.
What it will not do
- Invent trends, user counts, revenue or search volume to fill a report. A quiet window says it is quiet.
- Call an idea a build candidate on one source. Single-source ideas are capped below the Watch band.
- Sign in, solve captchas or work around blocks. A blocked source is reported as BLOCKED with what appeared.
- Post, reply, upvote, star, follow, sign up for trials or contact anyone.
- Decide what you build. It shortlists nothing on its own; Shortlisted and Building are your calls.
